L’Oreal Color Trophy Awards

Posted on 12 July 2011 by Publisher

Colour! Colour! Colour! Colour!!!! I’m loving every minute of it! For a country that has such long winters, as soon as the good good weather comes along I just want to paint everything neon and bright!!! So that’s exactly what I did! Whipping my hair up in a bun with some fun extension colours is always a statement! At the L’Oreal Color Trophy Awards in MTL, Canada it sure made a hit! What do you think?

If you dont have extensions, try sectioning your hair into 4 parts and just spraying the tips (using a costume/halloween spray) and winding your hair up.. or braiding it!  Its a NON perm way to do a fun twist on this seasons trend of OMBRE hair :)

XOXO

Skorch at “Rock for a Cause Benefiting VH1 Saves The Music”

Posted on 26 June 2011 by Publisher

by Tess Munster, Editor

Thursday night I attended Evil Pawn Jewelry’s Rock for a Cause Benefiting VH1 Saves The Music Foundation Hosted by Rachel Lay for the VH1 hit reality show Saddle Ranch. My date for the night was Designer Tracy Broxterman of Domino Dollhouse who was gracious enough to dress me for the event. It was sponsored by Inked Magazine and in true rock star style they had an artist from Zulu Tattoo there actually tattooing a few lucky people! Tres Sietes tequila was flowing freely & we got to snack on appetizers provided by Wahoo’s fish taco’s..YUM!

Faith Evangeline is the designer behind the Evil Pawn Jewelry Line. The pieces are stunning and include antlers, crystals, and skull cameos…what’s not to love? They are very much metal inspired (their tag line is “Adorn yourself in Metal”) and exude individuality which is very evident when you meet Faith herself. She had the BEST shoes of the night. They were very rock star status & drool worthy.

The host Rachel Lay was dressed in a sheer top which was beyond hot paired with brown leather pants and open toed booties, pants were by Tuesday night band practice, shirt Raquel allegra, and vest by DKKSHDW. We strutted our stuff together on the red carpet where I wore a skirt & shoes by Domino Dollhouse, Misfits baby doll tee by Hot Topic, Hair flower by Original Cenz, clutch is by Forever 21, necklace was Tarina Tarantino & ring by Torrid.

Also on the red carpet in leather was new recording artist Malika in leather pants with a killer scorpion belt buckle. The duo Data Romance looked very fashionable, singer Amy Kirkpatrick had one of my favorite looks of the night in a black trench inspired dress with cute little pockets and puff sleeves paired with tights and wedge sandals.

Tracy & I had two giddy school girl moments o which are credited to Brian McFadden (former MTV Veejay) & (Jesse James mistress). Michelle looked smokin’ hot in DIY pants and Tupac tee, and was gracious enough to snap a shot with me on the red carpet!

After hanging out on the red carpet, we headed inside to catch the bands; Canadian based, female fronted rock group Domenica & Data Romance. On the way out of the event, I ran into a great designer/blogger Heather Petrey from LAfashionsnob.com who won my favorite look of the night in her vintage dress she purchased from Pomona Antique mart and reworked herself. She paired her look with a ring and hat with actual BMW hood emblems that she made herself! I for one am not a BMW gal, but that hat almost converted me…almost. Lastly, her clutch was by Debutante Clothing.  All in all it was great event and I couldn’t have asked for more out of my first (of many) red carpet events that I will be covering for SKORCH.

The K-Mart “Bloggers Brunch” During Full Figured Fashion Week™

by Bella Styles, Skorch Fashion Editor www.bellastyles.com

On this past Saturday morning, a select number of curvy-bloggers were privy to viewing the new “LYS”, (Love Your Style, Love Your Size), collection from K-Mart. Long gone are the days of frumpy fashion in the plus-size departments. K-Mart has really stepped up to the plate, as many plus-size retailers are doing nowadays. In this new line from LYS there are jumpsuits, trendy skirts, maxi dresses and prints that are all right on trend. One of my favorite dresses from the collection is a navy blue print mid thigh dress and the back is cut-out which looked to me like a “butterfly” design. Too cute. The burnt orange jumpsuit is a knock-out as well. Many curvy shoppers are catching on to the K-Mart style change. A couple of ladies in the room had on the same piece from the line. That was oddly coincidental. No one will believe these stylish ensembles are from K-Mart. The brunch was hosted by celebrity stylist Jorge Ramon and the LYS design team. I for one will be visiting ALL my local K-Mart’s ASAP to find my fave pieces before they’re gone!!!

REALITY ROCKS: Outfit Post

Posted on 12 April 2011 by Publisher

I NEVER do outfit posts, but I had to share.  I was in need of a new look for REALITY ROCKS and had to diva out.  OF COURSE! Torrid pulled through for me.  I had to send my mother, or momager ala Kris Kardashian, shopping.  She was in search of party dresses.  Skinny Jeans.  Anything FIERCE.  After hitting  Forever 21, Dress Barn and Torrid she struck gold at Torrid.  OF COURSE!!!! As I zipped into the dress, it fit perfect (thank God for consistent sizing) and looked PERFECT to pull of the Plus-size Princess Marcy from “You’re Cut Off” look.  If you saw my tweets from my power shopping at Nordstrom Rack on Saturday morning, you saw my pumps and BAM. We have a LOOK!

I felt fabulous, confident and ready to ROCK.  Lashes on, SPANX in place, and a fresh do (all done on my own…) I felt like a million bucks.  It was a blast meeting “fans” and making new reality friends.  If you love reality tv and didn’t have a chance to make it out… keep an eye out next year, it was a BLAST!!!

And the token “get your picture taken on a background with a logo on the bottom to show how cool you are” pic:

Hope you enjoy playing dress up as much as I did!!!!!! (and do!)  To see more pics visit my facebook page! Till next time…

xoxo,

Marcy
