An Introduction to Mercy Shaw

Mercy Shaw started playing electric guitar and writing songs while she was in high school. After getting tired of the typical top 40 hits she heard on the radio, she found her mother’s classic rock collection. It was was love at first listen. She quickly realized that the ratio of rock Gods to Goddesses was pretty far off. Even more so with female guitarists. Mercy is a plus model and a musician. Two industries that have been known to objectify and mistreat women. Because of this, she decided to write songs that shed light on how women are treated everywhere. Not only in American industries but worldwide. When asked about her music she says, “I strive to write songs that encourage women to recognize and celebrate their worth and world-changing abilities. My hope is that my music inspires not only this generation of women but the next as well.”
