2018 is upon us, and to start off the new year there’s nothing I love more than introducing a few new trendy pieces into my wardrobe. I’ve gone ahead and gathered the top, upcoming trends for 2018 and predicted some of my own. Not only that, but I found these pieces in plus sizes being modeled by some of the most stylish babes on Instagram! Enjoy!
2018 Top Trend #1: Vintage Floral
Floral patterns never really go out of style, but this year it’s all about vintage floral prints. @wednesday_fattams looks stunning in hers! Prints that will be big are ones in darker colors, and floral patterns with that classic 60s vibe.
2018 Top Trend #2: Checks and Tartans
@fatgirlflow shows us exactly why this pattern is trending this year. What a great outfit! Checks really have a retro feel and can be dressed up or down.
2018 Top Trend #3: The Plastics
When I say plastic, think latex, PVC or any fabric that gives off a wet look. It’s very avant-garde, and gives me all the 90s feels! Remember when Baby Spice would sport that baby pink latex dress? @plussizebarbiiee looks radiant in her plastic dress.
2018 Top Trend #4: Sequins
You’ve always had those few staple sequin pieces in your wardrobe for nights out on the town. But starting at the end of 2017, and following through 2018, it’s all about daytime sequins. Why not? I’m all about extra pizzaz, with some glitz and glitter on top. @darlingiknow shows us all a stunning way to rock a sequin daytime outfit!
Pearls are popping up everywhere! From embellishing the bottoms of pants, to adding detail to any sort of top. @withwonderandwhimsy looks absolutely elegant in her pearl-embelished coat.
2018 Top Trend #6: Pastels
@boardroomblonde‘s outfit is giving me life! I absolutely love how she paired pastel and neon together. Not only are pastels going to be big in 2018, but white accessories are supposed to be super trendy as well!
2018 Top Trend #7: Lavender
Predicted to be the colour of the year, lavender can easily make it’s way into any outfit. Whether it’s just a dash of this lovely colour, or a completely lavender look, you’re sure to slay. @vanessalumusic shows us just how pretty it can be! Get ready to see loads of lavender in 2018.
Work these trends into your wardrobe this year! All the best in 2018!
